Problem-Solving Day – strengthening team work skills

Year 4 took part in exciting team-building and problem-solving activities on the field, led by specialist instructors. These tasks were designed to help the children to build strong teamwork, communication and thinking skills.

One of the challenges involved guiding different-sized balls through a large wooden maze filled with holes. It required careful control and plenty of teamwork! The second challenge was to attach a hook to a wooden block using long ropes. Each person was only allowed to use one hand to control the rope and this took a lot of patience!

The children showed great determination, resilience, and a willingness to learn from their mistakes. Most importantly, they discovered how valuable good listening, clear communication, and patience are when working towards a shared goal.

By the end of the session, Year 4 had not only completed the challenges, but also strengthened their problem-solving and teamwork skills—setting a positive tone for the year ahead.
