Planet parade 2025 - Knowledge and Understanding of the World

The children have been excited about the planets lining up in space. They have enjoyed finding out lots of facts about the planets, and were enthralled with the number of moons each planet has especially Saturn with 146 moons! They also learnt about famous space scientists and astronauts like Maggie Aderin-Pocock and Chris Hadfield.

The children used the Science website, ‘Explorify’ to see how space stations are cleaned, and they watched a shuttle launch, using their skills of looking and listening to guess what the close-up photos were and what sounds they could hear.

The children loved making their own planet hats and lining up in the correct order, so they could have their own planet parade.
