Settling in – making a confident start

The children have made the Reception team really proud, by settling in quickly and coming into class independently, with lovely smiles.

Learning new routines, knowing where to put their belongings, how to put straws into their milk and working out how to peel tangerines at snack time are all important life skills, that build confidence and independence.

The children are also making new friends and learning to play together with lots of imagination and flair. This includes learning to share, take turns and wait for their own turn, often with children they have never met before. The children can already find their carpet place and are practising their listening skills. This helps them follow instructions and the learning.

The teachers are confident they will have a fantastic year with this lovely new cohort, after such a strong start.
